 JEFC Book 2  Unit 16 Lesson 61

 

一、教学目标和要求

  1. 知识目标

    A. 学习下列新单词和词组:

         kind  lady  ladies’ room  tell  library  cross  crossing  across  miss  church  cafe 

    B. 学习“询问方向”(Asking for directions)和“应答方向”(Giving directions)的日常交际用语:

        Excuse me. Can you tell me the way to the …?     Walk/Go along this road and …

        Go up this road to the end. / Go on until …        Turn left at the … crossing.

        Go across the bridge.    It’s between the … and the …   You will see … in front of you.

  2. 能力目标:尽量利用真实的情景或创设较为真实的情景,促进学生直接用英语思维,也使教学过程变得更加生动、形象、直观,使学生更快地理解和运用关于方向的询问和应答。

  3. 情感目标:通过本课的学习,培养学生的观察力,想象力,创造性和合作性,提高学生学习英语的兴趣,增加学生学习英语的自信心。鼓励学生敢于开口,团结合作,培养他们乐于助人的良好品质。

二、教学的重点和难点:有关问路和指路的表达方式。

三、教学方法:

  1. 根据知识的以旧带新的原则,通过复习初二上学期第六单元的内容,以Guessing game的形式引入新课。

  2. 设计符合生活实际的“任务”,模拟日常生活,从而提高学生运用语言的能力。

五、教学过程

Step1  Leading-in 创设情景,激发兴趣

  1. Warm up. Let Ss guess the places. (教师准备好相关卡片,教师提问,学生猜。)

      A. If we want to see the films, we can go to the  cinema .

      B. If we want to go boating, we can go to the  park .

      C. If we are ill, we have to go to  hospital .

      D. If we want to borrow books, we can go to the  library .

      E. If we want to drink coffee, we can go to the  cafe .

      F. If we want to post letters, we can go to the  post office .

  2. Play the guessing game. (两个学生表演,一个通过英语解释和做动作,让另一位学生猜。)

  The teacher can give the give the students the cards with Chinese meanings.

      警察局            教堂;教会           (女)卫生间            银行

 

  3. Show the picture on Page 6, Part1, ask Where is the …?

      Revise the words about directions: behind  beside  next to  opposite in front of  at the left of  on the right of  in the middle of  between…and…

Step2   Pre-task  激活思维,迁移知识

  1. (Point to the picture) T: I’m here, near the theatre. I want to go to the library, how can I get there.

          Present the dialogue in Part2 with the Ss:

          T: Excuse me. Can you tell me the way to the library?

          S: Yes. Walk along Zhongshan Road, and turn right at the second crossing. Go across the bridge. You will find the library on the left. It’s between the post office and the hospital. You can’t miss it.

         T: Thanks very much.

  2. Tell Ss more about asking directions, then let the them read the dialogue in pairs, encourage them to ask different ways:

     A. Excuse me. Where’s the nearest hospital?

     B. Excuse me. Is there a police station near here?

     C. Excuse me. Which is the way to the nearest park?

     D. Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to the church?

     E. Excuse me. How can I get to the nearest college?

Step3  While-task  巩固拓展,达标反馈

  1. Look at the map and answer the questions. (见课件) Let Ss discuss in groups. (Workbook L61,part2)

Q1: How do you get to the theatre from the market?

Key: Turn left when you get out of the market and go along the the Second Street till the end. You will find the theatre on the right side.

Q2: How can I get to the library from the zoo?

Key: Turn right when you go out of the zoo. Go along the Second Street and turn left at George Street. You will see the library on the right side to the bank.

Q3: Can you tell me the way from the college to the video shop?

Key: Walk along George Street when you get out of the college. Turn right at the Firs Street. Walk along the First Street till the end. You will find the video shop on the right side next to the library.

  2. A foreigner will come to our school, he want to go to our headmaster’s office, the new dinning hall, the small park in our school. you will introduce our school to him.

Step4 Check  布置作业,提升任务

  1. Finish off Exercise1 in your workbook Lesson 61.

  2. Draw a map about our town, ask your friends some questions.
