一、教学目标和要求
1. 知识目标
A. 学习下列新单词和词组:

B. 掌握问路和指路的表达方式:
How can I get there? Which is the way to North Street Hospital?
Can we go there by bus?
Go down the street until you reach the second traffic lights. Then turn right. At the end of the road you’ll see the hospital. It’ll take you about half an hour.
The No.72 bus will take you there.
2. 能力目标:在学生通过向警察问路,陪伴一位外国妇女去医院探望她丈夫的故事中,继续巩固问路和指路的方法和技巧。同时也引出了情态动词may表示可能性的用法。
3. 情感目标:通过充满激情的教学活动,使学生体验学习的过程,对他人友好的帮助是一种快乐。通过师生合作、生生合作,使学生在互动、协作的过程中学会求知,学会与人相处、帮助他人。
二、教学的重点:有关问路和指路的表达方式。
三、教学的难点:情态动词may 的用法引入。
四、教学方法:
1. 从听、说、读、看着手,创设学生运用语言的氛围。
2. 本课为对话课,要避免课堂中单纯讲解语言知识的做法,要把语法知识立足于语言实践活动,从而让学生掌握实用的语言知识。

六、教学过程:
Step1 Leading-in 创设情景,引入新课
1. Topic: what do you do when you don’t know the way?
2. Find the places in our school
T: This is my first visit to your school, now I am at the school gate, I’m worried, because I want to go to WC. My dear friends, could you help me?
3. Help the old woman
T: You are all good boys and girls. Today we are going to know another good, kind girl, she is…
Ss: Liu Mei.
T: Very good. She helped an old woman. Let’s watch the video and think about two questions:
Q1: Where did the old woman go? Q2: Who told them the way?
( After watching, answer the questions)
Step2 Pre-task 激活思维,迁移知识
1. Present the dialogue:
A: Excuse me! Which is the way to the hospital?
B: Sorry, I don’t know. Ask the man over there, he may know.
A: Excuse me! Where’s the hospital, please?
B: It’s a long way. You’d better take a bus.
A: Which bus goes there?
B: The number 9. It’ll take about 20 minutes.
2. 学习有用的表达方式
A. May Let’s ask Li Lei, he may know the answer. May I open the window ?
B.句型 It takes sb. some time to do sth.
It takes me five hours to clean my bedroom.
It took us about forty minutes to get to the factory.
It will take you two days to finish the work.
3. Read the dialogue in pairs and answer the questions:

2) Did she know the way to the hospital?
3) How did they go to the hospital?
4) Why didn’t they walk there?
5) How did the husband feel when he saw his wife?
6) Why didn’t Liu Mei wait for their thanks?
