JEFC Book 2  Unit 16 Lesson 63

 

一、教学目标和要求

 1. 知识目标

  A. 学习下列新单词和词组:

     cut  finger  geography  physics  history   key  fix  lab=laboratory

  B: 情态动词can和may 的用法

 2. 能力目标:用can和may向他人请求或表示许可。

 3. 情感目标:在与学生平等友好地交流中,合理地给予学生建议,并能对学生的合理要求表示允许。这也是我们开展课堂教学活动的基础。

二、教学的重点和难点:情态动词can和may 的用法

   A. 请求许可: May I turn off the light?  Can you tell me the way to the post office?

   B. 谈论可能性: He may know the answer.   It can be dangerous.

三、教学方法:

  1. 努力创造真实情景,引发交际动因,吸引学生以完成任务的形式参与到语言实践活动中来。

  2. 活化教材,激发学生的创造性思维。使学生能根据生活实际进行语言训练,促进知识的应用和技能的提高。

四、教具:图片  实物(pens, books, keys, toys, etc.)

五、教学过程

Step1  Leading-in 创设情景,激发兴趣

(Put the pen, the book, the key and the toy in some place in the classroom. Don’t let the Ss know.)

 1. T: I can’t find my pen. I know! It may be in my pocket! No, it isn’t. It may be on the floor!

  No, it isn’t … Then it may be in my desk! Oh, yes, here it is!

    T does the same thing again to find the book.

 2. Let Ss say “ It may …” to find the key and the toy.

   Write may be and maybe on the Bb, and tell the differences:

   It may be in my desk.   Maybe it is in my desk.

Step2   Pre-task  激活思维,迁移知识

 1. Practise: Read the dialogue in pairs

   A: I can’t find my geography book.    B: It may be in that bag.    A: Ah, so it is.

   A: I can’t find my physics book.      B: It may be in your desk.  A: Ah, so it is.

   A: I can’t find my history book.      B: It may be in your desk.  A: Ah, so it is.

   A: I can’t find the key to my bike.     B: It may be in your inside pocket.  A: Ah, so it is.

   Learn the new words. Write So it is. and So is it. on the Bb, and give examples to tell the differences:

  1) A: Do you see my English book?   B: Maybe it is on the desk.  A: Ah, so it is.

     A: The English book is on the desk, where is the Chinese book?  B: So is it.

  2) A: Your sister studies hard.        B: So she does. She is the best student in her class.

     A: You study hard, what about your sister?   B: So does she.

 2. Play a game: Finding the eraser

    Using “ It may be in …’s right hand.” to guess.

Step3  While-task  巩固拓展,达标反馈

 1. Look at the pictures and present the dialogues:

  1) A: Can I borrow these books?      B: Certainly. You can keep them for two weeks.

  2) A: May I smoke here?            B: No, you can’t. It can be dangerous.

  3) A: Be careful! You may cut your fingers.    B: OK.

 2. Practise with Ss:

   T: It’s too cold, may/can I close the door?     Ss: Certainly.

   T: It’s snowing, may/can I open the door?     Ss: No, you’d better not. It’s too cold.

 3. Ask and answer:

   Boys: What are you going to do tonight?

   Girls: I’m not sure. I may help Uncle Li fix the machine.

   Boys: What is she going to do tonight?

   Girls: I’m not sure. She may go to the lab with her teacher.

    … …

 4. Topic: What are you going to do when you are older?

   Using “ I’m not sure. I may …” to answer.

Step4 Check  布置作业,提升任务

 1. Finish off the exercises in your workbook, Lesson 63.

 2. Ask your classmates or friends “ What are you going to do when you go back home?”
