一、教学目的和要求(Teaching aims and demands)
1.知识目标:
A.学习下列新单词和词组:fall off, teach oneself, clever, find out, piano, yourselves.
B.掌握反身代词的正确运用以及用could表示过去的能力。
2.能力目标:培养学生听说读写的综合能力。
3.情感目标:鼓励学生学有所长,多才多艺。
二、教学重点和难点(Key points and difficult points)
1.熟练运用反身代词。
2.熟练运用could表示过去的能力。
三、教学方法(Teaching methods)
1.创设情景,采用情景教学法。
2.采用任务型教学法。
四、教学过程(Teaching procedures):
1.热身准备,导入新课
(1)教师搞一个全班调查,活跃气氛,从而导入新课。教师介绍:Now, you are all middle school students. I think you can do a lot of things, can’t you? OK, now let’s see how many students can do these things.教师呈现表格如下:

然后教师提问:Can you play computer games? If you can, please put up your hands.请两个同学分别数女生数和男生数,并把动词词组和调查情况填入表格。以同样的方式提问:Can you play football? Can you swim? Can you cook dinner? Can you play the dizi? 教师对调查结果做适当的评价。
(2)教师接着引出Could you do these things when your were ten years old?板书并强调用could表示过去的能力。教师提问一个学生:Could you play computer games when you were ten? 引导学生回答:Yes, I could. / No, I couldn’t.向回答“Yes, I could.”的同学提问:You were great. Who taught you?自然地引出:I taught myself.= I learnt all by myself.和How clever! 然后问其他同学:Who taught him/her to play computer games? 练习He/She taught himself/herself.= He/She learnt all by himself/herself.以类似的方法引出yourself, yourselves, ourselves, themselves并且板书,指出其为反身代词,可以与一些动词连用,如:teach oneself = learn (all) by oneself
hurt oneself buy oneself something = buy something for oneself
enjoy oneself = have a good time
2.自然过渡,学习课文
(1)教师呈现Lily的两张照片并介绍提问:OK. Now let’s look at the two photos of Lily. What’s she doing? She is riding a bike ,but she is falling off the bike.板书fall off the bike,提问:Did she hurt herself? 教师接着介绍:Let’s look at the other photo of Lily. What’s she doing in the picture? She is swimming. 提问:Who taught her、 让学生带着两个问题听录音并回答。打开根本后适当地进行朗读训练。
(2)作机械操练,完成课文第二部分。
(3)完成课文的第三部分,作一个自由的小调查。学习新词汇play the piano。
3.任务布置、拓展运用
(1)作一个调查。在原来的基础上继续调查,要求六人小组活动,组长负责作调查报告。每一小组有一张这样的表格:

最后组长汇报如下:In my group,…students could swim when they were ten . They al taught themselves. They were clever. … No students could play computer games when they were ten.
在各组汇报的时候,教师把结果填入下列表格:(如果班级学生较多,每组汇报比较费时,可以抽3-4组汇报,其他组在同时把数据写在表格中。教师作适当的总结。
