一、教学目的和要求(Teaching aims and demands)

  1.知识目标:

   A.学习下列新单词和词组:sonata, poor, afford, knock at, dim, pardon, to one’s surprise, blind, shine brightly, through, look up, silently, lose oneself in, say to oneself

   B.理解文章。

  2.能力目标:培养学生听说读写的综合能力,着重为阅读能力的培养。

  3.情感目标:让学生体会到艺术和美来自于善良和关爱的心。

二、教学重点和难点(Key points and difficult points)

1.熟练掌握新词汇。

2.培养正确的阅读习惯,掌握阅读方法。

3.本文新的词汇较多,理解文章成了重点也是难点,同时要求能借助所给的词汇用自己的语言简单讲述故事。

三、教学方法(Teaching methods)

  1.创设情景,采用情景教学法。2.采用任务型教学法。

四、教学过程(Teaching procedures):

1.热身准备,导入新课

(1)  教师先示范,然后学生间相互提问,复习下列句型:

--Could you swim when you were ten years old?

--Yes, I could./ No, I couldn’t.

--Who taught you?

--I taught myself, I learned all by myself./ My father taught me.

(2)教师介绍:Can you play the piano? Please hands up if you can. Oh, only three students can play the piano. And I can’t play the piano myself. But Beethoven could play the piano even when he was four years old. How clever he was! Do you think so?

  (3)教师接着请学生讲述一些他们了解的关于Beethoven的故事。接着教师介绍并引出新词汇:Thank you for telling us so much about Beethoven. You are so clever to know so much about him. He was a very famous musician. In his life, he wrote some important pieces of music. Which of his music can you say in Chinese?… Right, “The Moonlight Sonata” It was a famous sonata. Do you know how  Beethoven wrote this sonata? Yes, I’m sure you know the story in Chinese. Today we have an English one. I’m sure you can understand the English story with the help of the Chinese story.

  2.自然过渡,导入阅读

(1)要求学生快速阅读,回答问题:Where did Beethoven write the Moonlight Sonata? 学生回答: He wrote it down at home.

(2)  要求学生仔细阅读,回答下列问题:

1)     Why did Beethoven stop outside a little house when he was walking in a street one evening?

2)     Did the girl find it easy to play Beethoven’s Sonata in F?

3)     Did the girl live alone?

4)     What did the girl wish to do?

5)     What did the young man say when he heard the girl’s wish?

6)     Did the girl really think her dream would come true?

7)     What did Beethoven do when he heard their talk?

8)     What surprised Beethoven when he saw the girl?

9)     How did the girl learn to play this music?

10)  Did Beethoven teach the girl to play his Sonata in F? What did he do instead?

11)  Did the girl and the young man like the music? How do you know?

12)  What did Beethoven call that new piece of music? Do you know why?

在问答的过程中让学生猜测并讲解下列新词组:

poor = not rich                 say sth for fun 开玩笑说

can/could afford to do sth = have enough money/time to do sth

knock at the door 敲门          dim = not bright, but not dark

pardon me  = excuse me          to one’s surprise 使某人惊讶的是

the girl was blind = the girl couldn’t see           

shine brightly in 明亮地照入     look up to the sky 抬头看天空                through  穿过(内部)    across (表面)     say to oneself 自言自语

listen silently = listen quietly       

lose oneself in (doing) sth   沉醉于某事

3.任务布置、拓展运用

(1)  朗读课文,为根据关键词复述作准备。

1)  one evening, walk, stop, hear sb playing, come one’s voice, be difficult to play, How I wish, cannot afford to do , say it for fun.

2)  Knock at, in the dim candle light, sit before, to one’s surprise, learn it by ear, listen to, for a long time

3)  Say no more, sit down, shine brightly, look up to, say to oneself, listen to…silently, lose oneself in, all night, call it

(2)由于本课词汇较难,做一些词汇巩固练习

根据首字母提示写出所缺的单词:

1.     What a fine day! The sun is shining b_________ in the sky.

(3)请同学用英语谈论对Beethoven的看法(从故事内容出发)

  教师可以这样问:After you read this story, what do you think of Beethoven?

  通过回答,教师启发学生要做一个有爱心的人。
