Teaching procedures
Step 1 : Content revision
to act out the play with the characters’ intonation and pronunciation paid special attention , and at the same time new words and expressions are required to be used properly .
Step 2 :Presentation
Listening with the following questions put forward
In what way did Portia get Sherlock trapped ?
When Sherlock failed to get what he had wanted , what did he do ?
What is the duke and Antonio’s reply to Sherlock’s case ?
Step 3 : Reading
group work -----role acting with detailed questions answered and gap-filling exercises done in students’ workbook
Step 4 : Language points
take pride in : be proud of
comfort : make sb feel less pain or much better than before
conditions .
Step5: Practice :
to rewrite the play in students’ own Words to act out the play with the characters’ different characteristics acted out , and with the characters’ intonation and pronunciation imitated very well .( through a group competition)
