一. 教学目的和要求(Teaching aims and demands)
1. 知识目标
A . 学习下列新单词和词组: necessary, waiting-room, queue, jumper, queue jumper, patient, at the head of, visitor, live, knee, hurt, laugh at, mistake.
B. 日常交际用语: Please stand in line. You must wait for your turn.
2.能力目标: 培养学生听说读写的英语综合能力。
3.情感目标: 通过让学生学习“一个不按次序排队的人”这么一个幽默小故事,宣传教育学生要树立公共道德意识。
二. 教学重点(Key points)
情态动词must肯定和否定形式以及when 或if引导的状语从句。
三. 教学难点(difficult points)
1. 状语从句的初步运用。
2. necessary, waiting-room, queue, jumper, , patient, at the head of, visitor, live, knee, hurt, laugh at, mistake 等词汇的读音和拼写。
四. 教学方法(Teaching methods)
1.创设情景,呈现任务,情意入境,投入学习。
2.通过小组合作活动,任务型教学法等手段使学生用中学英语,学中用英语.

六. 教学过程 ( Teaching procedures)
Step 1 复习巩固,使学生进入学习状态
1. revision 采用形式:教师说上半句,学生给下半句,复习上一节课的内容。(请全班学生集体应答)
T: If you don’t look first,… Ss:…a car may hit you.
If there is lots of traffic,… …you must wait.
If the traffic light is red,… …you must stop.
(请逐个学生应答)
T: If you drive too fast,… …you may have an accident.
If you make a lot of noise,… …you may disturb others.
When you get on the bus,… …you must buy a ticket.
When you get off the bus,… …you mustn’t push others.
T: When many passengers are waiting for the bus,…
Ss: …you must stand in line and wait for your turn.
Step 2 创设情景,导入新课
1. 教师在黑板上画一个大站牌,请事先准备过的六位学生站在黑板面前,还有一位学生站在旁边,教师介绍:
This is a bus stop. Many passengers want to take the bus. They wait in a line. Yes, they wait in a queue.(这是刚才站在旁边的那位学生突然插到了队伍的前列)Oh, one boy jump the queue. He is a queue jumper. Look! He is standing at the head of the queue. Please come out. You must wait for your turn.
板书并教学下列词汇:
wait in a line jump the queue at the head of the queue
= wait in a queue queue jumper wait for your turn
2.两边的学生不动,教师将黑板上的车站牌换成一个红十字,(代表医院)请刚才站成一排的学生拿椅子坐下,教师再对刚才那位学生讲:
T: Now you are ill. You are a patient. Where must you go?
S1:I must go to see the doctor.
T: Right. Now, this is a doctor’s waiting-room. These people are ill. They are patients, too. They are waiting for the doctor. What must you do? Can you jump the queu?
S1:No, I can’t. I must wait in the queue. I must wait for my turn.
T: Good. It is necessary for us to learn to wait.

1.Let the students scan the text quickly to answer the question:
Was the queue jumper really a queue jumper?
2.Listen to the tape and then answer the questions in pairs.
A: Where did the old woman live?
B: Why did she want to see the doctor?
C: Why did she take the man’s arm?
D: What did the doctor say?
E: Why did everyone laugh?
帮助学生回答问题时,呈现并教学生词:visitor, live, knee, hurt, laugh at, mistake.
3.Practise reading the passage for two or three minutes. Then do Exercise 2 in the workbook.
